JEFF FLEMING
Attorney & Owner
Attorney Jeff Fleming focuses his law practice in estate planning, elder law, asset protection, business planning, estate and trust administration. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College (1983) and his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law (1990). He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania. Jeff co-authored a book titled Guiding Those Left Behind in Pennsylvania, 2nd Edition, published in 2006. His estate planning articles have also been published in several magazines and newspapers across the country.
Jeff is a member of WealthCounsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. He is also a member of the Blair County Bar Association and Society of Retirement Financial Advisors. Jeff was the first elected president of the Blair County Bar Association and received the County Bar President’s Award for outstanding leadership.
He is a past president and national committee person of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – Pennsylvania (NAIFA-PA), a past president of the Altoona Area Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-Altoona Area), and a past chair of NAIFA’s Young Advisors Team (YAT).
Jeff and his wife Karen live in Hollidaysburg, PA. They have four adult children and five grandchildren. Jeff enjoys cooking, hunting, traveling, motorcycling, sailing, and watching movies with his family in his spare time.
BOB DICOLA
Financial Advisor
Bob is the owner of DiCola Financial Services. He has been assisting his clients with their investment, retirement, estate, and insurance planning since 1981. When not engaging with clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife Diane, daughters Kristin and Rachel, and four grandchildren. As a lifelong drummer and percussionist, he often performs with other local musician friends. He also enjoys Italian cooking, wine, and travel.

STANLEY R. SMILEY, ESQ.
Senior Vice President, Advanced Planning Group
As senior vice president of the Advanced Planning Group, Stan Smiley is responsible for the development and implementation of advanced planning strategies for Cetera Financial Group, a leading network of independent broker-dealer firms. The platform is the second-largest independent financial advisor network in the nation by number of advisors, as well as a leading provider of retail services to the investment programs of banks and credit unions. Stan was previously senior vice president, advanced markets for ING Advisors Network.
Utilizing more than 30 years of legal and estate business planning experience, Stan and his team provide consultative services for select financial professionals, who are focused on tax planning for highly compensated individuals, and estate planning and wealth preservation strategies for high-net-worth clients and family wealth transfers. A former partner of a Los Angeles-based law firm, Stan served as counsel for small and multibillion qualified pension and welfare benefit plans, private trusts, and foundations. He also held positions within the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in New Jersey and California. He was a part-time instructor of business law at the The University of Maryland and an adjunct professor for Golden Gate University’s Masters of Taxation Program. He also had the opportunity to serve as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force and has been a featured lecturer and commentator for various legal subjects on the Armed Forces Radio Network. Stan has been a platform speaker at several events in his areas of expertise.
He is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trusts Section, and the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association and serves on its Tax Standards and Exempt Organizations Committee. He is licensed to practice law in New York and California and is admitted to the United States Tax Court. He also maintains memberships in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bar Associations. He currently serves on the CFP Board’s Business Model Council.
Stan earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and was a Dean’s List honoree and law review associate editor while earning a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in New York. He maintains an insurance license and holds Series 7, 24 and 63 securities registrations.
JULIET HENDRICKSON, ESQ.
Senior Attorney, Advanced Planning Group
As an Advanced Planning Group senior attorney, Julie is responsible for providing specialized advice and support for financial professionals on a myriad of tax issues in the areas of wealth transfer, retirement, charitable, and tax-planning strategies for high-net-worth clients. She is a frequent participant in specialized educational and training programs for financial professionals.
Julie has more than 15 years of experience providing tax planning consultation to financial professionals. Previously, Julie was senior attorney, Advanced Markets, for ING Advisors Network. Prior to ING, she was an advanced marketing consultant in the Variable Annuities Division of Pacific Life Insurance Company, where she provided consultation to financial professionals on technical issues involving IRAs and qualified retirement plans, estate planning and annuities.
Julie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and her law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. In addition, she holds a California Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Agent license, as well as Series 6, 7 and 63 securities registrations. Julie currently serves on the CFP Board’s Business Model Council. She is licensed to practice law in the state of California.
MARYBETH BAKER
Director of Client Services
MaryBeth Baker joined VIP Financial Matters, LLC as the Director of Client Services in 2018. She has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her role is to assist clients with their service-related needs and to strengthen our professional relationships.
She is very personable by nature and has demonstrated her commitment to clients during her entire career. Tackling the day to day responsibilities and challenges serve as a continuous reminder of her motivation to continue her path in the financial services industry and her passion for working with our clients.
MaryBeth was born and raised in Bel Air, Maryland. She graduated with a business degree from Central Penn Business College and moved to Altoona in 1993 after marrying Adam Baker. They have two daughters, Hannah and Kayla. They are members of Sacred Heart Church in Altoona. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, friends, taking walks, vacationing, listening to her favorite band Pearl Jam and watching the Baltimore Ravens and Univ of Maryland Terrapins. Her favorite saying is ‘Cherish Yesterday ~ Dream Tomorrow ~ Live Today.’
